The daughter of a severely hard of hearing mother. Ramona Snyder grew up in a household where captioned television and amplified phones were the norm. Her mother was almost profoundly deaf without her hearing aides. A few years after completing her bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Ramona decided to take a sign language course with her mother. She felt her mother should know sign language in the event she ever lost her hearing completely.
After several years of taking classes Ramona decided to go back to school to pursue a Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in deaf education. She also obtained her teaching credential in deaf education from San Jose State University in 2001. She became a Sign2Me presenter in March of 2005 and a Regional Coordinator in 2006, because she feels strongly about the benefits of using sign language with hearing children.
Ramona has three young children of her own that she has signed to since birth and can attest to the benefits signing had with her children's communication and literacy skills.

Her hope is that the parents and children she teaches will desire to obtain some level of fluency of sign language that will continue beyond the baby/toddler years. She also wants to instill a respsect for the Deaf community whose language they are learning.

Presenters who successfully complete the Level I competency assessment receive their Sign2Me Presenters'Network Level I Certification, an official acknowledgment of their proficiencies and high professional standards.
